A couple of years ago, I chose to explore more deeply the realm of meditation and energy healing. Although I had experienced different kinds of meditation throughout my life, I’ve never made it a constant practice until I become a second degree Reiki Practitioner in April 2013.
Reiki (*) specifically, promotes relaxation, reduces anxiety and help us to connect with our inner-self. Through meditation (and energy healing) I felt I could increase self-awareness, self-love and feel more empowered to create a transformation that is going to allow me to have a more fulfilling life. We are constantly faced with challenges – in our professional and personal lives – and some of these challenges can be exciting, others can be so draining that they suck the life out of us, creating frustration and discontentment. The truth is, challenges will always exist, but we can learn how to better deal with them without compromising the balance that we seek in our daily lives. Many humans reach a point where they wonder if there is more to life than what they had experienced so far – whether that is an unhealthy life style, unhealthy relationships, working in a job that they despise or feel miserable, constant anxiety, fear of not being good enough, disconnection from their environment, etc. That feeling of wonder is the initial stage of becoming aware of what needs change (within and without). As for me, I started to think where and how I could best use my strengths and what else could I do for others besides serving my employer/society as an IT professional. I realized that in order to experience that transformation that I was seeking, I couldn't rely on intellectualism alone; I had to engage in some sort of spiritual practice hoping to find some of the answers I sought. Through meditation and energy healing I learned to connect with my inner-self, and I am more receptive to listen to the inner-voice that is constantly aiding me to make decisions and to change direction when I feel called to. Being aware is not always easy, but it is something we can choose to develop. Whether you choose to be an entrepreneur or to work for someone else, the important thing is not to stop trying even if you fail. That’s how we learn, that’s how we get better at something or realize that we have to take a completely different course of actions. I wish you well in all your endeavors and have fun in the process while getting in touch with your spirituality. Namaste. -Renata What is Reiki?
