Sometime around 2011, I chose to explore some meditation and psych development classes. Although I've had experienced and often practiced different kinds of meditation since my teen years, once I become a second degree Reiki (*) Practitioner (early 2013), my experiences of subtle energies became more intriguing and deeper.
Through these practices I felt an increase in self-awareness, self-love, and transformations that took me on a "Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole" kind of path. Realizing that we as humans are constantly faced with challenges in our own personal lives, and as a civilization, some of these challenges may feel exciting, others may feel draining, creating frustration and discontentment. Accepting that challenges could potentially always exist, we can learn how to better navigate them without compromising the balance that we seek in our daily lives. Do you ever wonder if there is more to life than what they had experienced so far ? whether it is an unhealthy life style, difficult relationships, working in a job that you despise or feel miserable, constant anxiety, fear of not being good enough, disconnection from your environment, etc. That feeling of wonder is the initial stage of becoming aware of what needs change (within and without). As for me, I started to think where and how I could best use my gifts and what else could I do (and BE) besides serving my employer/society as an IT professional. I realized that in order to experience that transformation that I was seeking, I couldn't rely on intellectualism alone; I had to engage in some sort of spiritual practice hoping to find some of the answers I sought. Through healing I learned to connect with my inner-self, and I am more receptive to listen to the inner-voice that is constantly aiding me to make decisions and to change direction when I feel called to. Being aware is not always easy, but it is something we can choose to develop. Whether you choose to be an entrepreneur or to work for someone else, a key element is BEING in touch with your authentic self. . I wish you well in all your endeavors and may you be present in your own process of connecting with your spirituality. Namaste. -Renata (*) Reiki is a Japanese technique (holistic modality) that promotes relaxation, reduces anxiety and help us to connect with our inner-self. This blog post was written in response to a request from a fellow that asked me to share about my path on this topic for her website.
